Sharon Academy Graduates 27

Led by bagpiper Scott Paulsen of the Vermont Independent School of the Arts, faculty and seniors marched into The Sharon Academy gym Sunday afternoon, June 10, for commencement exercises.

In keeping with tradition, head of school Michael Livingston introduced each graduate personally with an anecdote or reflection. The graduates then addressed comments to the gathered audience of 450, remembering special moments, thanking faculty, parents, and classmates, and envisioning a future.

Michael Hillinger, the president of the board of trustees, presented diplomas and office manager Janice Stumpf turned the tassels and received hugs from each graduate. The recessional was an untraditional "Pomp and Circumstance", played on the electric guitar by graduate Zach Nugent.
