SO. BURLINGTON—Stephanie Marie Payne, 38, died Monday, June 11, 2007 at her home after a life-long struggle with cystic fibrosis. She was born August 14, 1968 in San Diego, Calif.; the daughter of Thomas and Patricia (Holler) Payne. She attended schools in California and graduated from Twinfield High School, in Marshfield, in 1987. She was devoted to her family. Survivors include her partner of 20 years, Fred D. MacKenzie; and her children, Deborah and Connor Mackenzie, all of So. Burlington; her mother and step-father, Patricia and Richard Boule of E. Montpelier; her father and step-mother, Thomas and Patty Payne of Sun City, Ariz.; a brother, Andrew Boule of E. Montpelier; a step-brother, Marty Tatro of Montpelier; her step-grandmother, Agnes Boule of Bethel; many nieces and nephews, and a large extended family. She was predeceased by her sister, Jennifer Payne Berry. Memorial services were held Monday, June 18, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski. Rev Michael P. Cronoque, S.S.E., officiated. Lucy Dupont was the musician. Jackie Swartz was the reader. Dr. Donald Swartz offered reflections. A poem written by Fred MacKenzie entitled "Stephanie" was read by Dondi Walbridge and Tony Springer. Sherrie MacKenzie read a poem "Don’t Grieve For Me." Katherine and Elena Kelly sang "No Coming, No Going." A reception followed at the V.F.W. Hall in Winnoski. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, Md., 20814. Arrangements were under the direction of the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. ____________ |
