Rebecca Small

RANDOLPH—Rebecca Trask Small, 93, formerly of New Bedford, Mass., died Tuesday morning, July 3, 2007 at Menig Extended Care Facility in Randolph.

She was born May 27, 1914 in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of David M. and Hermina E. (Taber) Silvia. She was raised in New Bedford and graduated from the Wilford Academy of Cosmetology in Boston. She lived in Florida, where she was a member of the Hernando United Methodist Church, and came to Randolph in 1969.

She married Richard H. Bean in 1931. He died in 1977.

She married Everett H. Trask in 1946. He also died in 1977.

She married William E. Small in 1984. He died in 1993.

She enjoyed traveling, doing craft projects, braiding rugs, reading, and serving with Civilil Defense during World War II.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Davoll of Randolph; step-children, Ronald Small and Garry Small both of Westport, Mass.; and Patricia Mayall of Fall River, Mass.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother, Milton Taber.

Memorial services were held Monday afternoon, July 9 at the Green Mountain Gospel Chapel in Randolph, with Rev. Ronald E. Rilling, officiating. Sandra Rilling was the organist. Rev. Rilling opened with scripture and prayer, and the congregation sang "In The Garden." Rev. Rilling led a time of remembrance, during which Barbara Davoll and two granddaughters shared memories. The congregation sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." A reception followed in the fellowship hall hosted by the church.
