Sharon Tangeman

RANDOLPH—Sharon Hurley Tangeman, 70, died Sunday, July 29, 1007, at her home.

She was born July 16, 1937, in Jersey City, N.J., the daughter of Dunlea and Ethelyn (Mousette) Hurley. She was raised in New Hope, Penna., and attended Wheaton College in Bridgeport, Conn. She received her bachelor’s degree in English literature from Hunter College in New York, and her master’s degree in education from St. Michael’s College in Burlington.

She was a longtime Randolph resident and a writer and editor for many years. She enjoyed opera music and was an avid reader and prolific writer, with a keen interest in current events. She had served as a volunteer at the Chandler Center for the Arts.

She is survived by her daughter, Anne Tangeman of Lawrence, Kans.; a brother, Michael Hurley of Astoria, Ore.; two sisters, Maureen Hurley of Topsham and Jeanne Remaily of St. Helens, Ore.; and 11 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Brian Hurley.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 7, at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph, where family and friends shared scripture and memories.
