So many of us have been following the lengthy process of Kevin Blakeman to create housing on his land on Sunset Hill and his ongoing battle with the Development Review Board. So many of us have privately expressed our sympathies to Kevin for his seemingly endless struggle and frustration and so many of us never speak up to support him. It was of particular interest to see that Judge Wright of the Vermont Environmental Court has rejected the decision of the DRB in turning down the project. The October 2006 vote was split 4 to 3. Considering that past vote, the facts that the project appears to be legally permissible, and the ruling from Judge Wright, isn't it time to say 'uncle' and give the man the permit?
