RANDOLPH—Irwin B. Bohn, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. He was born March 22, 1920, in Greenwich, Conn., the son of Lars S. and Helen M. (Bennett) Bohn. He attended Greenwich schools and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II as a flight engineer on B-17s and C-54s in North Africa. Following his discharge from the service, he attended Southwest Photo Arts School in Dallas, Texas, and then attended Billings Business College in Billings, Mont., graduating in 1949. He later attended the National Camera Repair School in Inglewood, Colo., and the Cleveland Institute of Technology in Cleveland, Ohio. He married Margaret Moran June 6, 1954, in New York City. The Bohns made their home in Darien, Conn., until they moved to Randolph in 1974. He held various positions as an accountant, bank auditor, office manager, and manager of a bowling alley in Stamford and Darien, Conn. He was also a freelance photographer and camera repair technician. His memberships included the Randolph Baptist Fellowship, where he had served as deacon and was involved with the Boys Brigade, the Randolph American Legion Post #9, and the Randolph V.F.W., Post $9449. He had also been a past president of the Stamford, Conn. Aerie of Eagles. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing trombone. During the last nine years of his life, he enjoyed listening to Christian radio. Survivors include a niece, Joan Neal; a grand-niece, Tracy Frostick; and grand-nephews, Christopher Neal, Austin Neal, and James Neal. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Bohn, in 1998. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 20, at the Randolph Baptist Fellowship, with Rev. George Sweet officiating. Andra Mills was the pianist, and Morris Howard was the song leader. Several friends shared remembrances. Robert Orleck gave a eulogy and shared the poem, "God’s Eternal Link," and Don Sweetser sang "Were You There?" Burial with military honors followed at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. The American flag was folded by Clayton Butterfield and Sumner Small of the Randolph American Legion, and presented to Don Sweetser. Pallbearers were Chuck Anthony, Robert Orleck, Don Sweetser, Madison Boyce, Bob Scully, and Tom Lyons. A reception followed, hosted by the Randolph Baptist Fellowship.
