Chandler Gallery Exhibition Is Photographic Tribute The Gallery at Chandler begins its centennial celebration with "Chandler Inside and Out: A Historic Photographic Tribute to Col. Albert B. Chandler, His Family, Friends and Randolph," September 8-October 14. Gallery hours are Thursday from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1-3 p.m. The gallery will present 108 photographs of Randolph as related to the life and times of Colonel Albert B. Chandler. Of these, 80% are antique photos reproduced and printed by Ken Goss, the creator and curator of this centennial season opening exhibit. "The antiques photos are reproduced from originals from the Chandler archives, the Historical Society (courtesy of Harriet Chase), the Herald archives (courtesy of M.D. Drysdale) and Wes Herwig’s book (courtesy of Mim Herwig)," Goss says, "The rest are new photos of the same images, comparing before and after." Goss’s favorite is a photo of Colonel Chandler from the Civil War, when he served under Lincoln as a cipher operator. The reproduction is made from the photo that hangs permanently in the Randolph Historical Society museum. The public is invited to a reception this Saturday, Sept. 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery at 73 Main Street in Randolph.
