Chandler Gallery Will Offer Digital Camera Workshop

The Chandler Gallery in Randolph will host a workshop, "Basic Digital Camera Concepts," with photographerAnnie Tiberio Cameron, Sunday, Sept. 30 from 1-5 p.m. Cameron's photographs were recently featured in the Chandler Gallery exhibit "Pigment, Paper & Wood."

How do digital cameras capture your image? If you are making a shift to digital photography from film, or starting fresh in the use of digital methods, this workshop is for you. Learn the basic features that make digital cameras tick. If you want to understand terms that are new and confusing, such as resolution, memory cards, optical and digital viewfinders, file formats, histograms and more, then come and learn the basics in simple language, supported with a comprehensive handout. Some features will be familiar from your film camera, and the class will briefly review how these features appear on your digital cameras.

This workshop is suitable for beginners to digital photography, using either point-and-shoot or SLR cameras. Workshop participants must bring their camera and the instruction manual that came with it. If you don't have one, please download one from the web or secure one from the manufacturer before the class.

Pre-registration is required. For fee information and to pre-register, call Betsy Cantlin at 728-9878 before September 28.
