Marketing At Vt. Tech

Vermont Technical College this week appointed Ben Merrill as its director of marketing and community relations. He will handle advertising, publications, marketing, and internal communications, as well as press relations.

Prior to joining the college, Merrill was president of Merrill Financial Communications, Inc. a Randolph-based marketing communications firm, and before that, he was director of Marketing Communications and Creative Services for National Life Insurance Company in Montpelier.

He began his writing career as a reporter, editor, and freelance writer for daily and weekly newspapers in the Boston area.

As the parent of a college freshman and two daughters now attending RUHS, Merrill believes he may have access to a unique and exclusive focus group, which he hopes will assist him in developing communications targeted to future VTC students.

A 14-year resident of Randolph, he is married to Mardee Sanchez, the town's Zoning Administrator and resident engineer.
