Hazel Therriault WHITE RIVER JCT.—Hazel B. Therriault, 86, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at the home of her sister, Helen Luce, in White River Jct. She was born February 28, 1921 in Royalton to Wayne and May (Harrington) Burnham. She graduated from Hartford High School Class of 1940. She married Burnace Braley on October 5, 1945, and they later divorced. In 1955, she returned to the Upper Valley with four small children in tow, and started working at Williams Laundry, earning 30 cents an hour. After a prolonged strike, she left and worked at the Tip Top Bakery for many years, until the bakery closed. In 1974 she married Clarence Therriault. She and her husband then worked at the Valley News. She retired in 2002 at age 81, to fight a battle against cancer. She is predeceased by her former husband and father of her children, Burnace Braley; her husband, "CJ" Therriault; her parents, and nine brothers: Morris, Vernon, Roy, Eldred, Stanley, Hazen, Wendell, Reginald and Earl Burnham. Survivors include her four children: Charlotte Fisk of Sharon, George Braley of Post Mills, Bernard Braley of South Royalton and Patricia Powers of South Royalton; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three sisters: Helen Luce of White River Jct., Hilda Smith of White River Jct., and Katherine Vaughan of East Montpelier; two brothers Roger Burnham of White River Jct. and Fay Burnham of White River Jct.; and dozens of nieces and nephews. Calling hours were held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., Saturday, Sept. 22. A funeral service took place Sunday, Sept. 23 at the Greater Hartford United Church of Christ. Burial followed in the Hartford Cemetery.
