Sharon Boys

With 6-2 Record

The Sharon Academy boys soccer team find themselves with a 6-2 record, with wins against West Rutland, Concord, Whit-comb, Rivendell, Rochester, and Williamstown, and losses to South Royalton and Blue Mountain Union.

Colin Pope scored both goals in the 2-0 victory over the Golden Horde with assists from Bobby Farrell and Duncan Nelson in West Rutland.

TSA lost to their Royal neighbors 3-1 in South Royalton.

Sharon beat the Chargers in Sharon 3-1. Hannes Fischer-Byrne scored from an assist from Sam Polas. Otto Pierce scored off a penalty kick. Michael Young-Ward scored off an indirect free kick with help from Will Seymour.

A 6-1 victory over the Hornets followed, along with a victory over the Rockets. A loss to BMU put them at 5-1 for the season. Young-Ward scored off a penalty kick.

Monday afternoon found the Phoenix in Williamstown facing the Blue Devils. In a well played defensive game, TSA hung tight leaving the field on top with a 1-0 shutout victory from an unassisted Pierce deposit. Sharon also had a strong first varsity start and performance by Michael Landry, playing in place of an injured Brad Farrell, who suffered a concussion in the BMU game. Landry had 15 stops with five solid saves.

Sharon travels to Chelsea on Friday, Sept. 28 and hosts Whitcomb on Tuesday, Oct. 2.
