The Chelsea boys’ soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss to Thetford Academy last week. Thetford, to be considered a powerhouse in Division III, opened up with a goal off a throw to give them a 1-0 lead. By halftime the Panthers were up 3-0. Chelsea had promising runs up the field multiple times, threatening to score, but couldn’t finish. Once the second half began, Thetford didn’t show any signs of slowing up, adding another three goals to their lead, giving them a 6-0 win. Loss to Rivendell The Chelsea boys’ soccer team lost against Rivendell 6-2 last week. Just a few minutes into the first half, Rivendell scored first, off a shot from the left side of the 18, giving them a 1-0 lead. However, a few minutes later, Andrew Richardson scored off a corner from Joseph Bonasera, tying the game at one a piece. Rivendell scored just a few minutes later, when they were awarded with a kick just outside the 18 and they scored with a shot to the opposite corner. From that point on, the Raptors kept increasing their lead, ending with a 6-2 victory. Loss to Whitcomb The Chelsea boys’ soccer team opened up their game against Whitcomb with a 2-0 lead, with goals from Andrew Richardson and Galen Milchman early in the first half. However, with just a few minutes left, Whitcomb player Clemens Garr closed the gap to 2-1. Chelsea went into halftime leading 2-1. Whitcomb came out in the second half and scored three consecutive unanswered goals, giving Whitcomb the hard-earned victory. ____________ |
