End Season

The Randolph Lady Ghosts played their last home game of the season on Wednesday. It was senior night and the Ladies were pumped up for the game. They came out strong in the first half, being offensive-minded with 14 shots. The Ghosts were aggressive and winning the 50-50 balls. Unfortunately, the Ghosts couldn’t put the ball into the net, which has been their problem all season.

The second half was even better for Randolph, taking 14 shots again and limiting St. Johnsbury to seven. Finally, the ball found the back of the net for the Ghosts with 3:44. Gwen Reis, assisted by Amanda Gerstenmaier, scored the only goal of the game.

The Ghosts were excited after the goal and kept St. Johnsbury out of the offensive end. The game ended with the ghosts winning 1-0; it was a nice end to the seniors’ last home game. Erika Weber and Arielle Connolly combined for 21 saves.

Tie at Oxbow

The Lady Ghosts traveled to Oxbow for the final game of the regular season. The Ghosts came out really slowly in the first half. They were not aggressive and weren’t going to the ball. Luckily, Oxbow wasn’t able to get the ball into the net. The Ghosts walked off at half time tied with the Olympians, 0-0.

The Ladies picked it up in the second half and were more aggressive, beginning to win the 50-50 balls. Neither team had much of an offensive game, with only a combined 17 shots in regular time. Randolph couldn’t come up with a goal and regular time ended still tied up at 0.

The first overtime was uneventful with both . The second half was better for the Ghosts with a few offensive pushes towards the end, but again the Ladies couldn’t come up with a goal to win the game. Randolph and Oxbow tied after double OT 0-0. Webber had 10 saves in the game.

With the win and the tie, the Ghosts have been guaranteed a playoff spot. It has not been decided who they will play, but the game will be early next week.
