Young Audience
Left Buzzing

I would like to share a wonderful experience I that had last week. On Friday morning, I attended the Chandler presentation of "You Gotta Have a Dream," an original musical production that involved 46 youth from 12 area towns.

Full disclosure: my daughters were cast members. But, while the entire cast was a joy to watch and hear, what I really want to share is the magic I felt as I sat among the audience of 446 children at the special Arts in the Schools program. They really made the show special.

You could have heard a pin drop during the dialogue, and when the kids began to clap to the beat of a favorite song, the cast just lit up. The young audience was responsive and polite, and, as my daughters reported later, still buzzing with excitement when they all got back to school.

So, a big thank you to Bethel grades 1-6, Braintree grades 1-6, Brookfield grades K-6, Randolph’s grade 3-4, homeschoolers, and classes from Randolph’s School Street Montessori, Chelsea’s Wellspring School, and Randolph’s Community Preschool. You were a superb audience!

Thank you, too, to Chandler’s Arts in the Schools program, which makes reasonably priced tickets available to area school children. Friday morning’s magic for almost 500 area youth couldn’t have happened without it.
