RANDOLPH CENTER — Dorothy J. Olsson, 76, of Randolph Center, died early Monday morning, Nov. 5, 2007 at Gifford Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1931 in Pittsfield, Mass., the daughter of Roger and Blanche (Voitk) Haskins. She was raised in Cheshire, Mass., then moved to Stratford, Conn., where she graduated from Stratford High School. She married Stanley Olsson in Stratford in 1953, and they moved to Bridgeport, Conn., then to Milford, Conn. from 1960-1990. They moved to Randolph in 1990, and her husband died in 1996. She had worked at Rogers Texaco and Avco Lycomings in Stratford, and at the Connecticut National Bank. She volunteered with Girl Scouts and was a 45-year member of the First Congregational Church of Stratford, Conn. She enjoyed music, knitting, solitaire, gardening, watching sports, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her sons, Lawrence Olsson of Randolph Center and Thomas Olsson of Milford, Conn.; a daughter, Mary Olsson of New Britain, Conn.; a sister, Georgette O’Brien of Milford, Conn.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lee. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 at 12 noon at the First Congregational Church of Brookfield, with Rev. Neil Carr officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. Calling hours will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9 at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
