A concert recorded in September at Randolph's Chandler Music Hall will be broadcast nationally this Sunday, Dec. 2 on National Public Radio.

On Sept. 29 a team from NPR's program for young classical musicians, "From the Top" taped its first-ever program in Vermont at Chandler. Host Christopher O'Reilly interviewed seven teenage musicians, including two from Vermont, who then played for a full-house audience at the Music Hall.

That program, edited by "From the Top" engineers, will play on Vermont Public Radio Sunday.

For the special occasion, VPR will interrupt its regular schedule of news and information in order to air "From the Top" at 6 p.m. on its regular stations, which can be received here at 89.5 and 107.9 FM.

At 5 p.m. the program will be aired on the VPR Classical stations. One of them, at 88.1 on the dial, can be received in higher locations in central Vermont.

Among the outstanding young artists performing in the program is Thea Talento of Woodstock, a senior at The Sharon Academy, who performed on violin. The other Vermonter was Katie Jordan, a horn player from Charlotte.

"VPR is delighted to partner with Chandler Music Hall to showcase the dedication and passion of these terrific Vermont students," saidVPR President Mark Vogelzang.
