Maiden Vermont and friends will present a holiday concert Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Rochester High School Auditorium. Maiden Vermont is a women's barbershop chorus of more than 40 voices, conducted by Lindi Bortney. The concert will include performances by the Curbstone Chorus, a men's barbershop group based in Rutland, the Rochester Federated Church Bell Choir, Sarabeth Hamberlin and the Downtown Brass Company, a jazz quartet. The program will feature new and traditional arrangements of holiday music. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Rochester Fire Dept. Building Fund and the Middlebury Town Hall. Maiden Vermont has performed since 2004, most recently at Rutland First Night, Rochester's Harvest Fair, and the Castleton summer music series, where their joint concert with the Curbstone Chorus drew a crowd of 1000.
