Boy Scouts Santa ought to remember to put the members of Cub Scout Pack 202 of Bethel at the top of his "nice" list this year. At their last meeting the Scouts and their leaders, families and friends spent time holiday wrapping the 99 pounds of gifts donated by their families, friends, and local business helpers. The gifts included something for everyone’s stocking—maple syrup and maple sugar candy, books, CDs, Vermont T-shirts, games, socks, snacks and candy canes. After the boys filled 14 boxes with the wrapped gifts, the friendly folks at the Randolph Village post office helped get the packages of holiday cheer on the way to a very special destination—our Vermont Air National Guard on duty in Iraq. The boys hope that the gifts will help these brave servicepeople know they’re in our thoughts and hearts this holiday season. The Boy Scouts had some generous helpers, too: the Bethel Rotary Club, Central Market, South Royalton Market, Keith’s Too Printing, Village Booksellers, and The Brick Store. |
