In Central Vermont Venues Pete Sutherland’s annual review, now fondly known as "PETESTOCK," will tour Central Vermont in the next week. It'll be a very nice relaxed (acoustic!) show, offering old songs from old CDs and old bands, plenty of fiddle music, and a few new pieces, all featuring Sutherland’s crack backup team— just a little different show each night with special guests. "Bring the family and be ready to sing along!" Sutherland advises. Roots musician, master fiddler and songwriter, Pete Sutherland is one of northern Vermont’s more restless musical minds. This December’s PETESTOCK will make its appearance Dec. 28 at the Norwich Congregational Church; Dec. 29 at Bethany Church in Montplier; and Dec. 30 at the Vergennes Opera House. Each of the concerts, presented by the "Events for Tom" series, begin at 7:30 p.m. Joining Pete for these "Last Night" shows will be five stalwart members of his ever-evolving "repertory company"— long-time singing partner Karen Sutherland, along with genre-hopping string wizards Colin McCaffrey and Will Patton, and accordion and keyboard genius Jeremiah McLane. A variety of special guests will join the cast at each location as well. Advance tickets at a slightly reduced price are available through the Flynn Box Office at 863-5966 or www.flynntix.org. Proceeds benefit the Tom Sustic Fund, which supports families of children with cancer. |
