RUHS Wrestlers
In Bow Tourney

On Saturday, Dec. 12 the RUHS wrestling team went to the Bow Holiday tournament in Bow, N.H.

Starting off the day, David Maxfield wrestled Troy Stratford of Bedford. Maxfield pinned Stratford 31 seconds into the match. Maxfield moved on to the next round to wrestle Blake Nelson of Bow. Maxfield pinned Nelson in 34 seconds. In the next round, Maxfield wrestled Kyle Durso. Durso pinned Maxfield in the second period. Maxfield still moved on to wrestle Alex Roy of Winnasquam. Maxfield was also pinned by Roy.

Taylor Holt did a good job at Bow, too. Holt started the first round wrestling against Matt Kaplan of Franklin. He lost his first round against Kaplan, but was ready to keep going. Holt then wrestled Matt Bungay of Winnasquam. Holt pinned Bungay in 32 seconds. In the next round, Holt wrestled Dan Mak. Holt pinned Mak in 31 seconds. In Holt's final match, he was pinned.

Steven Bent had a good day as well. Bent started off the day wrestling Bobby Deragon. Deragon unfortunately defeated Bent. Bent moved on to wrestle Nik Chase of Winnasquam. Bent won, 9-5. Bent went on to wrestle John Stark of the Generals. Stark pinned Bent in the second period.

Matt Simpson had a good day that made his stats go way up. Simpson started off the morning wrestling Josh Arnold of St. Thomas. Simpson won 9-0 against Arnold. He then moved on to wrestle Jason Ferris of White Mountain Regional School. Ferris unfortunately won against Simpson. Simpson then wrestled Carmon Yergeau of Salem. Simpson defeated him and ended with a pin time of three minutes and 17 seconds. Simpson ended his day wrestling Jesse Shull of Newport. Shull beat Simpson with a pin in the second period.

Good luck to all the wrestlers at their next tournament on the 28th and 29th in Middlebury.
