Janet F. Page

WESTMORE—Janet F. Page, 87, died peacefully after a long illness Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 with her husband of 65 years, Bill Page, at her side.

Survivors also include her sister, Lois White, of Windsor; as well as five sons, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, including Cal, Marcia, Ken and Laura Page of Brookline, N.H.; Charlie Page, Mary Kaye Maxwell, Alexis Page, and Pan and Sara Graham of Randolph; Nick Page and Nita Penfold of Melrose, Mass.; Morgan and Aaron Naber of New Haven, Mo.; Logan and Byerly Michener of Edmond, Wash.; John, Lorraine, Sophie and Isabelle Page of Williamsburg, Mass.; Helene Busby of New York City, Keith Page and Heidi Eli Schmidt of Malden, Mass.; and Ted, Nancy, Abigail and Nicholas Page of Lexington, Mass.

Along with her sister, she spent youthful summers at Lake Willoughby in Westmore, where her grandmother and later her parents, Ted and Harriet Fish, rented summer cottages. When she lined up by height at her Belmont, Mass. high school graduation, she was paired with a young man named Bill Page. They dated in their college years, marrying in 1942. They raised five boys in Lexington, Mass., where they were active at First Parish Church. In 1983, they retired to Westmore, enjoying travels to China, Egypt, India, Europe, and Mexico.

She was a craftsman and an artist, creating many quilts, articles of jewelry, and watercolors. She played the accordion, guitar and recorder. She also loved cooking and tending her vegetable garden and sharing its bounty. She took great pleasure in her grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, Jan. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Westmore Community Church at Hinton Hill Road and Route 5A in Westmore. A reception will follow at the Westmore Fellowship Hall. There will be a second memorial service in Lexington, Mass. at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Milfoil Eradication Fund, payable to the "Westmore Association" at Westmore Association (Milfoil Fund), Box 143, Orleans, Vt. 05860.
