RANDOLPH CENTER—Nellie S. "Sally" Sargent, 84, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at Gifford Medical Center. She was born August 25, 1923 in Randolph Center, the daughter of Ernest G. and Alice (Williams) Blaisdell. She was raised in Randolph Center, and graduated from Randolph Union High School in 1942. She married Henry Sargent on Feb. 16, 1944, in Randolph Center. He died in 1995. She moved to Brightwood House in South Royalton in 1996, where she lived until moving to Riverbend in Chelsea in 2006. She had been active in the East Randolph Baptist Church, West Hill Independent Gospel in Chelsea, and Journey in South Royalton. She enjoyed cooking, and sending numerous cards to family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Ferno of Loudon, N.H.; Diane Riefler of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Lorraine "Lori" Heidelmeier of Randolph Center; a brother, Warren Blaisdell of Randolph; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Jennie Howe Burke and Dorothy Sanford. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 19, at 11 a.m. at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center. A memorial service will follow at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel. There are no calling hours.
