Sharon N. Smith

BATH, N.H.—Sharon Norma Smith, 45, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.

She was born February 5, 1963 in Barre, the daughter of Herbert A. and Louise E. (Morse) Bent. She was raised in Barre, and graduated from Williamstown High School. She had received a bachelor’s degree in computer science and had lived in Worcester, Mass., where she worked for Raytheon Corporation for 14 years.

She then moved to Northern Virginia, where she met James S. Smith. They were married in Montpelier on December 21, 2002, and moved to New Hampshire in 2006. She had worked for Allen’s Kitchen & Bath Design in St. Johnsbury. She was an artist who loved to paint, work with crafts, and had been in a fife and drum corps. She also loved her dogs, Cherokee and Harley.

Survivors include her husband, James S. Smith of Bath, N.H.; her mother, Louise Bent of Wilder; a brother, Stephen Bent of St. Albans; three sisters: Charlotte Stevens of Williamstown, Lillian Wessel of Wilder, and Rita Riles of San Francisco, Calif.; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
