Jane A. Maxwell

SO. YARMOUTH, MASS.—Jane A. (Jean) Maxwell, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008. She was born July 26, 1925 in Taunton, Mass., the daughter of Irish immigrants Polly and James McGaurghan.

She was proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed Irish song and dance. She was an avid bridge, bingo and card player and loved to attend parties wearing one of her many costumes.

Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Maxwell of South Yarmouth, Mass.; four children: Richard E. Maxwell of Wayland, Mass.; Jane Maxwell Shields and her husband, Jack Shields, of Eastham, Mass.; Mary Kaye Maxwell and her husband, Charlie Page, of Randolph; and Tara Maxwell of West Yarmouth, Mass.; a sister, Mary Katon, and her husband, Tony, and family of North Dighton, Mass; and a brother, Edward Wimpy McGaurghan, his wife, Lucille, and family of Taunton, Mass.

She was predeceased by a brother, James.

A mass and celebration of her life will take place Saturday, April 26 at 11 a.m. at St Pius X Church, Station Avenue, South Yarmouth, Mass. Arrangements will be handled by Morris & O’Connor Funeral Home, South Yarmouth, Mass.
