More than 70 photographs were submitted for the contest, which was the Herald’s way of celebrating this particular Feburary, which saw the heaviest snowfall on record. Skiers were celebrating, too.

The top four winners, besides Mattoon, were Peter Magoon, Amy Hart, and Louise Corliss. Honorable mentions were given to photos from Tobias Maier, Janni Jacobs, Karen Skrill, Jim and Debby Ford, and Louise Sjobeck.
