To New England’s

     On Friday and Saturday, February 22 and 23 , the Randolph Wrestlers went to the wrestling state finals. Matt Simpson had a good two days coming out with third place and qualifying for New England’s.

Youth Wrestling

     Youth wrestling for the area is being held Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6-7 p.m. The event is held at Randolph Union High School in the cafeteria for children kindergarten through sixth grade.

Semi-Finals by One Basket

     The Randolph boys’ basketball squad hit their peak at the right time, and came roaring into the playoffs. Ending the season with a 6-14 record, the team earned a 13th seed, and traveled to fourth seeded U-32 on Wednesday.

Chelsea Girls Lose to Billstown

     The 7-13 and 12th seeded Chelsea Lady Red Devils and the 11-9 and fifth seeded Williamstown Blue Devils both did their devil-best to end each others’ season in D-IV playoff action, but it was the Blue Devils who prevailed in the end, with a five-point advantage in the 47-42 contest.

Lady Hornets Upset Craftsbury

     The Whitcomb Lady Hornets finished the regular season at Rochester last Tuesday, hoping to avenge their season opening 40-30 Bean Pot defeat. It wasn’t meant to be, unfortunately, as the Hornets fell to their hosts, 52-31.

Sled Dog Racing

     ISDRA Musher Dillon Gast of Randolph Center took first in the Adult Two-Dog Speed class at the Inlet Sled Dog Race Skijoring race on February 24. Gast finished the 7.4 mile course with a total time of 00:27:02.

Proctor Ends Chelsea Boys’ Season

     Top-seeded Proctor showed the Chelsea boys no mercy as they steam-rolled past the eighth-seeded Red Devils in the quarter-finals, 62-23. Idle since capping the regular season with an 18-1 record, the Phantoms were eager to get out on the court.
