Top-seeded Proctor showed the Chelsea boys no mercy as they steam-rolled past the eighth-seeded Red Devils in the quarter-finals, 62-23. Idle since capping the regular season with an 18-1 record, the Phantoms were eager to get out on the court. Chelsea defeated the ninth-seeded TSA Phoenix by two points, 43-41, in the play-downs to book the round-trip to Proctor. Proctor erased any hope that the Red Devils had at being the spoilers with an upset victory and left no doubt who would be heading into the semifinals when they took a commanding 17-point lead at the end of the first period, 18-1. Proctor boosted their total up to a 44-10 halftime collaboration. Proctor was unstoppable during the first half, running the fast break and grabbing the offensive rebound repeatedly and halting Chelsea’s attempt to bring the ball inside. Phantom Jordan Snow had 17 points and teammate Kyle McQuarrie had 12 points. Joe Bonasera, Matt Hogan, Jordan Lyford and Jim Welch all had five points apiece for the Red Devils. Chelsea ends the season at 12-9 and loses Bonasera, Justin Gilbert and Lyford to graduation. ____________ |
