Farm Stand Helps
Fill Co-op Void

Driving along Rt. 12 out of Randolph toward Bethel, I could hardly see the "OPEN" flag, just beyond Central Supplies. I turned into the Central Supplies parking lot and drove over to the tomato-red building: The Randolph Farm Stand.

I love walking in there! Fresh, fresh produce, both organic and conventional, farm and specialty products from fresh beans and bread to crème fraiche, reasonable prices so I can afford the organic citrus and basic fresh salad produce. Although I only glance at the cultured butter and goat’s milk cheese (and the juried-quality blown-glass and pottery), they always seem to have a fresh selection, so others are certainly indulging! They even carry the fantastic Vermont nut-free chocolate I requested.

A friend recently remarked that there is a huge need for a store to replace the lamented Co-op. I could tell him, Randolph has it! It’s just in a tucked-away location, and it is hard to see that little "OPEN" flag.

This sounds like an advertisement … well, it is. Completely unpaid and unsolicited. I am merely a minor customer who would like everyone to know that the Randolph Farm Stand is a wonderful new distillation of the best of the old Co-op, with high quality standards and an amazing selection.

The community-minded couple who have thrown their hearts into this venture have given us a second chance at a whole foods store. I am supporting them with every produce and chocolate penny I have in my food budget!

The Randolph Farm Stand is located just beyond Central Supplies; accessed through the Central Supplies parking lot entrance. If you can’t see the "OPEN" flag, they are open every day but Monday, and their telephone number is 728-4202.
