Cynthia McGlynn

WILLIAMSTOWN—Cynthia M. McGlynn, 68, died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at the Berlin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born June 12, 1939 in Rutland, she was the daughter of Donald and Ann (Carroll) Murray. She attended Williamstown Village Elementary School, graduated from Williamstown High School, and attended Castleton State College.

On June 25, 1960, she married Robert McGlynn and they made their home in Williamstown. For many years, she had operated the Williamstown Kindergarten. Later, she was a speech and language assistant at Williamstown Elemen-tary School. More recently, she was a speech and language assistant at the Brookfield Elementary School, until her retirement.

She was a longtime trustee of the Ainsworth Public Library in Williamstown, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Williamstown Fire Department, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 10 of Barre.

Her interests included taking trips to Hampton, Beach, N.H., collecting bears, and doing crossword puzzles. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and attending their sporting events and many other events in Williamstown.

Survivors include her husband, Robert McGlynn Sr.; her son, Robert McGlynn Jr. and his wife, Cindy, all of Williamstown; her daughter, Jill Plastridge and her husband, Kelly, of Barre Town; three grandchildren, Tabitha McGlynn, Kyle Plastridge, and Tatum McGlynn; a sister, Joanne Blakeman and her husband, Alan of Montpelier; several nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.

A celebration of her life was held Wednesday, March 19 at the American Legion Post 10, on North Main Street in Barre, followed by a time of fellowship for family and friends. There were no calling hours.

The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home on Academy Street in Barre was in charge of arrangements.
