Eugene Petersen

WALLINGFORD, CONN.—Eugene A. Petersen, 75, died March 16, 2008.

He was born April 18, 1932 in New Haven, Conn., the son of Axel M. and Bertha (Frey) Petersen. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he was a staff supervisor of engineering for the former Southern New England Telephone Co. for 32 years. He was an avid sportsman, World War II enthusiast and a lifelong resident of Orange, Conn. and Brookfield, Vt.

Survivors include his wife, Claire C. (Keegan) Petersen; three sons, Eugene A. Petersen, Jr. of East Haddam, Conn., William Petersen of Hamden, Conn., and David Petersen of Milford, Conn.; a brother, Edward Petersen of Wallingford, Conn.; a sister, Sandra Butler of West Haven, Conn.; and six grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Richard Petersen.

Funeral services took place Wednesday, March 19 at the Sisk Brothers Funeral Home in Hamden, Conn. There were no calling hours.
