Chandler Serves Up the 14th Annual

Mud Variety Show: ‘Mud Du Jour!’

The 14th annual Mud Season Variety Show, "Mud Du Jour," will be presented Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. Twelve area towns will be represented in this annual celebration of community spirit at the historic Chandler Music Hall in downtown Randolph.

Audiences will be entertained by 20 acts, with members ranging in age from 13-70, sharing their gift of song, dance, comedy, musicianship and more. Many new "specials" are on the menu this year.

From Braintree, pianist and songwriter Brian Sarvela will perform, as well as musician Christopher Smith. Newcomer Eric DeLange will fire things up with a drum solo, and Alexis Page, recently relocated to Randolph, will deliver the "Flatlander Blues."

Dance will be hot with the Keenhold Dance Troupe, The Step in Time Line Dancers, tappers Mark Luttrell and Matt Messier, the Mt. House Cloggers and belly dancers Katlinel Shlasko and Kaytee Manchester.

Teen vocalists Holly Mugford and Melissa Vellas will each return to sing solos. Lauren Soares will accompany her vocals with the piano. Rachel Dube will "Shoot the Moon" with RUHS friends Ben Strange and Morgan Easton. Accordion music will be delivered with the lightning fast fingers of Dr. Jon Knoff and Kassandra Knoff.

Shari Dutton and friends will share a few of their "favorite things," and pianist Craig Smith, now with his band of eight, will be welcomed back to the Chandler stage. Gail Osha and Danny McIntyre will prepare a dish of "Mockingbird," and there will be a visit from "Farmer Dave" from Waterbury Center. If this menu didn’t fill you up already, save room for Morgan and Alex Easton’s version of "Bohemian Rhapsody."

The ushers will show you to your seats, while the MCs serve up a night of entertainment for the whole family. "Mud Du Jour" may also include some roasting and toasting by hosts Randy Garner, Tom Harty and Janine Reeves. Tracey Rotman and Kay McLoughlin will be in the mix as well.

The Randolph Senior Center will provide dessert with intermission refreshment sales each night.

Friday night’s performance will be taped live by Orca Media and shared with patrons over their television cable network.

Chandler Center for the Arts produces this variety show for the benefit of the community, but it is also an important fundraiser to support programming at the hall throughout the year.

Reserved seat tickets can be purchased by calling 802-728-6464 or tickets@chandler-arts.org . The box office will also be open at the hall starting at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 11 and at the door the evenings of the show. It’s highly recommended that you make a reservation ahead of time in order to assure that you get the best seats.
