Youth Promoting World Unity:
Wildfire Dancers at Chandler

Wildfire Dance Theatre from Stratford, Ontario will perform at Chandler Music Hall on Main St. in Randolph Monday, April 21 at 7 p.m. This performance is sponsored by the Institute for Human Understanding, based in Rochester, and tickets will be available at the door.

"Wildfire Dance Theatre is a social and economic development project that strives to use the arts as a means of inspiration to ignite positive moral and social change in schools and communities around the world," explains institute chair, Carolyn Cruikshank. "Youth from all over the world volunteer a year of their lives to educate and promote unity in diversity by inspiring all people to help make a positive difference.

"Wildfire tells the story of the planet’s present challenges, guiding the audience through a process of reflection," Cruikshank added. "Following the performance, there will be a meaningful discussion between the audience and the performers. Young and old will laugh, have fun, and be thoroughly entertained!"

The Wildfire youth troupe will also offer workshops at the Federated Church in Rochester, Monday, April 21 at 10 a.m. for children ages 6-11, and at 1 p.m. for youth. This is an opportunity for children and youth to meet and work with youth from seven different countries on a personal level. To register, call Carolyn at 767-3303, or Anna at 767-1177.

Wildfire Dance Theatre performs for thousands of people annually, at schools, festivals, and fundraisers, touring countries like Greece, the Ukraine, and the United States. The feedback they receive demonstrates that their educational performances make a difference in people’s lives. To find out more about Wildfire go to www.wildfiredt.com.
