Has New Director

The Boys and Girls Club of White River Valley (BGCWRV) has a new executive director.

From his Randolph office, Scott Rotman is overseeing operations at the non-profit’s "units" in Northfield, Hartford, Bradford, and the Randolph area.

Boys and Girls Clubs of America aim to provide safe and healthy, programs for kids, 6-18, and local units are given freedom to find programs that meet community needs. Activities here range from an after-school dance program for elementary kids, a "homework help club" in Bethel, and a drop-in teen center.

The Randolph unit also has a contract to run recreational programs for the town of Randolph—from the summer camps and the pool, to pick-up basketball for adults.

Rotman seeks to expand the club’s programs and its connections with other non-profits. He urged those with program ideas to contact him at 728-3332.

The Randolph man, by training an environmental attorney, has a background in working with youth. A one-time alpine racer, he has coached younger skiers for years, and served, formerly, as president of the Glen Falls (N.Y.) Area Youth Center.
