•Bridge Night. Meets every other Thursday, come at 6:30 p.m. to eat and/or 7 p.m. to play, The Pines, Chelsea. Beginners encouraged, all levels welcome.

•Bingo Night. Sponsored by the Tunbridge Grange, 7 p.m., Grange Hall, North Tunbridge.

Saturday, April 26

•Car wash. Fundraiser for RUHS Spanish student trip, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Randolph Fire Station, Central St., (across from Cumberland Farms).

•Tree planting. Sponsored by the White River Partnership, 10 a.m., Randolph Center. Call Mike Bald at 763-8260 for directions.

•Spaghetti Dinner. Proceeds benefit Tri-Town Youth Sports, dinner and 50-50 raffle tickets at the door, 5-7 p.m., Rochester School gym, Rte. 100.

•Ham and Turkey Supper. Supper at 5 p.m., plus minstrel show at 8 p.m., Middle Branch Grange Hall, East Bethel. Tickets at the door.

•Statewide AFSC Gathering. Keynote speaker "Granny D," Iraq veterans’ panel, workshops, music, and lunch; free, public invited, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Bethany Church Main St., Montpelier. Info: 802-229-2340.

Tuesday, April 29

•Japanese Calligraphy and Brush Painting. All levels welcome, ages 10 and older, 4-5 p.m., ongoing Tuesdays, Vt. Independent School of the Arts, Rte. 14, Sharon. Call 763-2334 to register, drop-ins also welcome.

•Red Cross Blood Drive. 12 noon-5 p.m., South Royalton School gym, in memory of Carlton Clark.

Wednesday, April 30

•No Strings Marionette Co. Randolph troupe performs "Nick of Time," 9:30-10:30 a.m., Bethel Elementary School. Free admission, everyone welcome.

•Bingo Night. Open at 4:30 p.m. to eat, early-bird games, 5:45 p.m., regular games, 7 p.m., beginners encouraged, instruction provided, Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Rte. 66, Randolph. Info: Keith at 763-8285.

•Parent Workshop. "Maximizing Your Child’s Potential: Healthy Brain Development in a Media Age," the impact of television on developing minds, tips for guiding what children watch and setting boundaries, dinner provided, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Chelsea School Library. •Fiddlehead Festival. With children’s parade, tractor cavalcade, Maypole, kids’ activities tent, tractor obstacle course, food, local farmer’s market, wild edibles workshop, sheepdog demo, farmer’s lunch, live fiddle music; 9 a.m.-3 p.m., VTC campus, Randolph Center.

Sunday, May 4

•22nd annual Plowing Match. Teams of horses and oxen compete in farm fields, doors open 9 a.m., lunch available, Billings Farm & Museum, Rte. 12, 1/2 mile north of Woodstock green. Info: 802-457-2355.
