At St. Johnsbury last Tuesday, RUHS track athletes competed against CVU, St. J's and Northfield.

Randolph’s Ethan Barrett improved to 6:01 in the 1500 and recorded a personal best of 68'8" in javelin. Teammate Phil Lease threw the javelin and matched Barrett's best, then put out a new best in shot put at 22'5".

For the Ghost girls, Liz Douville had a new best effort in shot put as well, at 22'10.5". Douville also competed in the 100 and 200, where she lowered her best time to 33.8. Danielle Galbreath continued to improve in javelin to 54'8" and Holly Mugford was first in javelin with a 99'7" mark. Mugford also came in fourth in shot with a 25'2" put.

U-32 Meet

At U-32 on Friday, Mugford led the team effort with 14 points, 10 for first in javelin at 101'2" and four more for fourth in shot put at 25'10". Galbreath threw 57'4" for another personal best in javelin and also put the shot 18' 7.5". In the 100 meter dash, Douville finished in 15.6 seconds with teammate Holly right next to her in 15.7.

For the Guy Ghosts, Jake Zani ran a new personal best of 12.87 in the 100 and a 26.62 in the 200. A beginner at javelin, Zani also competed and earned a 93'1" mark. Teammate Lease ran the 3000 for the first time.

Junior High Team

The junior high team sent a partial squad to Peoples Academy on Wednesday while other teammates marched in the All-State Parade. Highlights of the meet included Logan Whitcomb in the 1500 at 5:36 for third, followed by Josh Blanchard in seventh at 5:45. Tommy Zani was fourth in the 800 at 2:43. Ryan Maxfield earned second in the javelin with a 102'3" throw and also competed in the 100, shot and 4 by 400 relay. The Galloping Guy Ghosts earned third in the 4 x 400 relay with Josh Blanchard running the anchor leg in a 62 split.

The junior high team had a meet Monday at Green Mountain Union and then on Saturday at U-32.

The high school competed in the U-32 Monster Meet Wednesday evening and travels to Harwood next Tuesday.
