Thanks To Many In Canoe Rescue

In regards to your article "Canoeists Overturn In Swollen River" April 26, 2001.

I would like to thank the search and rescue team as well as the State Police and the local law enforcement for a job well done. It’s of great comfort to know we have you all.

I would like to mention two other very important people in the rescue effort. Kenny Terrian and Evelyn (Twitchell) Terrian. Kenny and Evelyn came to find the canoeists firsthand. They shouted the directions across the river to the canoeists, and while I was looking for help, Kenny and Evelyn were hiking in search for the canoeists.

Again, I would like to express that all involved did a job our community can be proud of.
