‘Funny Girl’ Brings to Life Ziegfield Follies Star Brice

One of the biggest smash hit musical comedies of all time comes to town when Burlington’s Flynn Center presents the Broadway National Tour of "Funny Girl" Wednesday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. Jule Styne’s award-winning Broadway musical recreates the glorious splendor of the 1920s Ziegfeld Follies and poignantly reveals the private life of its greatest singing comedienne, Fanny Brice.

Featuring classic songs like "People" and "Don’t Rain on My Parade," "Funny Girl" tells of Brice’s rise from geeky girl to Ziegfeld’s brightest star. A lively evening of entertainment with large-scale Ziegfeld-style production numbers, "Funny Girls" is a dazzling combination of the uproarious comedy routines of the legendary Fanny Brice and a brilliant, talented cast who deliver an exhilarating and memorable night of musical theater.

Winner of two Grammys, an Oscar, and a Tony, Styne (Gypsy) is one of theater’s most prolific tunesmiths. Created with Bob Merrill and Isobel Lennart, this musical biography shapes Brice’s life story with the warmth, tenderness and humor.

Tickets for this performance may be purchased by calling 863-5966.
