Big Apple Circus Comes Back To Hanover for 20th Season Big Apple Circus Comes Back To Hanover for 20th Season The Big Apple Circus comes back to Hanover in July for the 20th consecutive summer, with an all-new show heralding the return of Grandma, the Clown after a three-year hiatus. The circus rolls into town early the week of July 15. Shows under the air-conditioned big top begin Thursday, July 18, at 4 p.m. Time and date of the tent raising at the Fullington Farm circus grounds on Route 10, the Lyme Road, will be announced. "Big Top Doo-Wop" is the title of this year’s show, which pays tribute to the glorious American '50s— when Buddy Holly rocked 'n'rolled, cowboys sang on TV, service-station attendants were eager to help and Hollywood dreamed in Technicolor with Gene Kelly and Cyd Charisse. The show is also highlighted by the bicycling antics of Justin Case from Australia; the Jokers from Russia with a daring flying trapeze act; and the Svensons from Sweden with an uproarious equestrian act. From Chile come the rambunctious dogs of the Olate Family; the Maiorov Troupe from Russia demonstrate Olympics-level acrobatics; and Emile Carey from Quebec both awes and amuses with his juggling skills. Aerialists Regina Dobrovitskaya and Valdis Yanovskis come from Russia; from Denmark, Katja Schumann’s trained horses, featuring equestrians Katherine Schuman Binder and Max Binder, both from the United States, and, Sasha Nevidonski from Russia; and finally, the multi-talented Big Apple Circus Company featuring Audrey Mantchev from Bulgaria, Maritza Atayde from Mexico, Virgile Peyramaure from France, Christian Stoinev from the United States and rock’n’rollers from all over the world. New York's original one-ring circus, the Big Apple Circus, has been entertaining audiences of all ages for 24 years with its international line-up of world-class circus performers. The circus is a not-for-profit performing arts and community outreach organization, committed to children and their families. Hanover is the exclusive New Hampshire-Vermont engagement and the last stop on the 11-month, 10-city tour of the Big Apple Circus. Shows at the Fullington Farm circus grounds on Route 10 (the Lyme Road), are Thursday, July 18, 4 and 8 p.m.; Friday, July 19, 4 and 8 p.m.; Saturday, July 20, noon, 4 and 8 p.m.; Sunday, July 21, noon and 4 p.m.; Monday, July 22, 4 and 8 p.m.; and Tuesday, July 23, 4 p.m. Children 2 and under are admitted free but must sit on an adult’s lap. Complete Ticket information is available from the Hopkins Center Box Office at (603) 646-2422. ____________ |
