New Season For TSA By Laurie-Jean B. Gauthier Last year the Sharon Academy Phoenix boys soccer team played in their first soccer championship final and if the returning senior and juniors have any say, they will play in their second final at the end of this season. Back again is coach Rob Stainton along with players Blaine Connor, Danny Moore, Otto Fierce, Bobby Farrell, Evan Frank, Colin Pope and Will Seymour. Also returning is sophomore Michael Young-Ward. New members to the team are juniors Duncan Nelson and Cody Spiegel; sophomores Hannes Fischer-Byrne, Andrew Parent and Eddie Massimino and freshman Sam Polaf. Players who graduated were Phineas Ellis, Willy Ruiz, Tim Luckey, Will Imbo, Jeff Colburn and Max Dyvig. Although the team appears experienced with one senior and six juniors returning, it is really one of limited experience playing at the varsity level. They appear to have a strong core group in the midfield and good team speed, but they will most definitely be working hard to replace those players who graduated. ____________ |
