Tough Week For Chelsea Boys By Joseph Bonasera

The Chelsea boys’ soccer team lost to their opponent Sharon Academy, 5-0. The game was close until, with just a few minutes left in the first half, Sharon scored off a drive down the left side of the field. TSA took a shot that hugged the near post and snuck past keeper Matt Hogan. The first half ended with Sharon leading the game 1-0.

It wasn’t until partway through the second half in which Sharon began to light up the score board with another four goals. Fatigue became a factor for the ten-player roster and Chelsea ended up losing.

Loss to Blue Mt.

The Chelsea boys suffered another heartbreaking loss to Blue Mountain last week, 6-1. Chelsea came out strong and surprised Blue Mountain, scoring first off a through-ball from Joseph Bonasera to Andrew Richardson, to give Chelsea a 1-0 lead. Both teams controlled the ball equally.

Blue Mountain scored on its first drive off the tip-off to begin the second half from Shane Leach O’Donnel to Charles Jobin. From that point on, Blue Mountain continued to dominat, adding another five goals to give the Bucks a 6-1 victory.

Tough Loss in O.T.

The Chelsea Red Devils dropped a tough game to Concord last weekend with a 1-0 loss in overtime. Both teams maintained possession evenly throughout the game.

Partway through the second half both teams became frustrated and cards were issued all around. A couple minutes into the first over-time Concord was rewarded a penalty kick for a controversial call inside the 18. The kicker placed the ball in the middle and Hogan, Chelsea’s keeper, couldn’t gather the ball up, giving Chelsea another loss.
