Bysel Realty Moves To Main Street After two months of renovation, the former Music Shop on Main Street in Randolph has been transformed into a bright new space for Bysel Realty. Owner Dennis Brown cited the convenience and visibility of the downtown location as reasons for moving his business, which until March 15 was located on Rt. 66 just outside Randolph village. However, the downtown building needed a significant amount of work before the move could take place. Brown restored the original tin ceiling, rewired the building, redid the plumbing, installed new floors, and repainted the now-light-filled offices a lovely light green. Bysel Realty moved in on June first. Brown had originally wanted to locate the business in downtown Randolph, but was unable to find the space at that time. With his partner, Richard Carrier, an engineer at GW Plastics in Bethel, Brown was able to buy the new building, the upper floor of which contains apartments. Brown began his realty career 15 years ago as a broker with the New England Land Company. He purchased Bysel in 2000, and with a staff of four, including agents Sherri McPhetres, Rose Wright, Skip Distel, and receptionist Claire Gillich, specializes in residential realty in central Vermont. Asked to comment on the state of the housing market, Brown said he's seen a "tremendous slowdown" in this region recently, which he called a "correction" to the market, saying he's not concerned about an impact on his business. On the bright side, Brown says he's gotten "tons of good feedback" on the renovation of the building, as well as neighbors welcoming Bysel to the space. Brown is pleased with the response. "This is where we're going to be for a long time, I hope," he declared. |
