The Lady Royals began 2008 with a 5-2 record, after their first loss on the road last Friday to the Northfield Marauders.

Beginning their season with two 61 point games, Coach Cronan felt his offense was "sputtering, and it wasn’t because of Northfield’s defense. We need more balance scoring."

At the half the Royals were up, 19-16, and fought through the rest without their starting point guard, Megan Whitcomb, who was on the bench with an ankle injury. The game closed at 38-32, Northfield over South Royalton.

Northfield’s leading scorer was Emily Martin with 14 points, and for the Royals, Callie Jozefiak had 11 points.

South Royalton will play in Woodstock on Thursday.
