Local Youth Talent Celebrated At Chandler ‘Mini Mud’ Show

This Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m., the folks at Chandler Music Hall will light the main stage to celebrate the talents of local youth and teens with the second annual "Mini Mud!" variety show. Everyone is invited to join host Zoe Gaby Smith in applauding the talents of your friends and neighbors.

Dance acts include "The Butterflies," choreographed by seven and eight year-olds Addie Luke Currier and Elissa Doering of Randolph Center. A clogging number will be presented by the "Sugardrop Sisters," a pre-teen clogging group with members from Chelsea, Williamstown and SouthRoyalton, and "A Step Above Dance Competition Team" and "A Step Above Dance Performance Team" will deliver modern pieces with energized teen dancers from the Northfield area.

Youthful voices will be celebrated with the "Sounding Joy Youth Chorus" singing "Edelweiss." "Friendship" will be acted and sung by Katie Brobst, Maddy Brobst and Callie Wuttke. Eleven year-old Amanda Ukasick of Braintree will deliver "Love Song."

Teen vocalists include Bobby Marchione with an a cappella version of "Running to Stand Still." Melissa Vella of Windsor will sing "Anyways," while high school senior Holly Mugford of Randolph will perform "My Man." Alison Turner from South Royalton will present her original tune "False Hope." while accompanying herself on guitar.

The RUHS Jazz Band will belt out some jazz and the band "Insecure Youth Movement" will deliver a touching tune with Steven Neas on vocals. Fourteen year-old Jesse Wakefield is back again with another drum solo, Ella Williams of Gaysville has prepared an original piece on cello, and Katarina, Johan and Kassandra Knoff will introduce the button accordion with a variety of songs.

Eight year-old Laura Vaillancourt will join nine year-old Lilly Caron on the piano for their version of "The Polka Dot Polka." Teens Taylor Hull and Abra Atwood will present "Jubilation!"

The evening will also include a marionette show, "The Flying Dog," written, created and performed by seven year-old Ethan Rotman. His buddies Nathan Zimet and Avi Zimet will be on hand to help out.

A variety show would not be complete without some poetry, so Lydia Roe will give a recitation of "I’m in Love with Mud!"

Reserved seat tickets are available now by calling the Chandler box office at 728-6464 between 3 - 6 p.m. and the box office will be open starting at Friday, March 7 at 11 a.m.
