Seventh Straight Victory For Sharon Boys Seventh Straight Victory For Sharon Boys By Laurie-Jean B. Gauthier The Sharon Academy boys remain undefeated with their seventh season victory in a 4-1 win over the Blue Mountain Bucks last Friday in South Ryegate. Senior Colin Pope was the "man of the hour" for the second time this season scoring a hat trick. It was Pope’s second triple-goal day of the week. On Tuesday he earned his first against the Rochester Rockets. Teammate Michael Young-Ward assisted Pope with all three deposits for his own tripler. Eric Littlehales scored the other goal unassisted for TSA. Blue Mountain’s lone goal erased the shutout bid, and is only the second ball that has made it past net-tender Brad Farrell, who had three saves in the game. To date the TSA Phoenix have scored 31 goals against their opponents, earned one goal off an own goal deposit, and have given up only two goals in their first seven outings, which include five shutouts, as they continue their quest to make it to the state finals next month. Pope leads the Phoenix with 10 goals, followed by Hannes Fischer-Byrne with five goals, Young-Ward with four goals and both Danny Moore and Littlehales with three goals apiece. Young-Ward has the most assists with six. Goalie Brad Farrell continues to get the job done in the cage and now has faced 15 shots and made 13 saves. Half-way With seven games behind them, TSA has another seven games remaining in the regular season. Game eight was on the road to Putney yesterday and game nine will be in Bethel next Tuesday against the Whitcomb Hornets. __________ |
