Frank C. Angell

BETHEL—Frank C. Angell, 77, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 at his home in Bethel.

He was born January 9, 1931 in Worcester, Mass., the son of Edwin Olin and Helen (Howe) Angell. He attended school in Millbury, Mass., graduating in 1949 from Millbury High School. In 1950, he graduated from the Vermont State School of Agriculture in Randolph Center.

He worked a short time on the Lyman Burbank farm in Chelsea, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1951. He served throughout the Korean and Vietnam wars, before retiring in 1971. On June 2, 1955 he married Margarita Hirsh in Vienna, Austria and they lived most of their married life in Vienna. She died December 14, 1994 in Vienna. In 1999, he made his home in Bethel.

He was a member of the Tulin Air Force Base Reunion organization where he enjoyed attending many reunions. He enjoyed reading and music.

Survivors include three brothers, Byron H. Angell of Tunbridge, Phillip N. Angell of Willington, Conn., and Wardner C. Angell of Springfield; a sister, Mertie Clark of Tunbridge,; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held Friday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. at the Tunbridge Congregational Church, with pastor Gordon Mitchinson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan Angell Enos Scholarship Fund, c/o Vermont Technical college, Randolph Center, Vt. 05061.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home on Main Street in Chelsea.
