Church Shooting A Despicable Act

A friend has asked me to add my voice to those who are protesting the murder of Dr. George Tiller, who was shot point-blank as he was ushering in his church.

Dr. Tiller was compassionate, honorable, dedicated and kind, and was killed because of his work to provide safe and legal abortions for 36 years.

It is frightening to realize that while abortion is a procedure about which good people disagree, it has become a matter of such hatred. It is a difficult issue—about that nearly everyone agrees.

But rather than address it with conflict and violence, let us work together toward the time when every child will be wanted, loved and healthy.
