‘Lend A Drum’ Program, Workshops

Drummer and drumming instructor Barry Miller is beginning a “Lend a Drum” pilot program to encourage more people to experience drumming. He will also offer a series of five drumming workshops.

Funded by a grant from the Woodstock Learning Trust, the program will allow participants to sign out a drum at a very small cost per day or per month. Those borrowing a drum must pay a deposit, which is refundable upon return of the drum.

The intention of the workshops is to include anyone with a desire to drum. To kick off the series, there will be a free workshop offered Thursday, Feb. 18 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the White River Craft Center on Randolph Avenue in Randolph. Donations will be accepted to help keep the “Lend A Drum” program going forward. Dates of the remaining workshops will be announced soon.

For more information about “Lend A Drum” or the drumming workshops, call Miller at 728-2055.
