State Farm Insurance Agency— ‘Not Just a Telephone Number’

By Chelsea Sargent

Although State Farm Insurance has had a branch in Randolph for a very long time, the branch’s new agent, Mike Heyl, has brought a new attitude and approach.

"It’s important to have personal connection and availability," Mike explained.

To that end Mike is committed to being an agent who isn’t just a phone number for members of Orange and Windsor Counties. He also appreciates his team, Karen Broadwell and Anissa Lewis; both of them graduates of VTC who have raised their families here in Randolph.

"A lot of my customers are people I grew up with in the community," said Anissa. Having that strong connection helps Randolph’s State Farm Insurance have a deeper understanding of the needs of their customers.

Some things that are important to Randolph community members during these rough economic times, according to Heyl, are making sure that they are getting the right amount of coverage at the lowest possible cost. Whether for insuring multiple cars or being good students, "we are always looking for discounts."

It’s also important to Heyl that his team be a trusted resource. "We won’t force what we have on our customers," he declared. Instead, Heyl and his team help customers become aware of the process and coach them through finding the right insurance.

Working locally also makes the representatives at State Farm Insurance more flexible.

"We don’t have to slam the door shut at five o’clock," Karen said, because she and Anissa live close by. "I’ve been here until seven o’clock at night quoting home and autos."

"We’re available 24/7," Mike agreed, "In case of emergency you can always reach State Farm."

Customers can find a wide array of insurance and financial services at State Farm Insurance. "We’re known for being the number one provider for auto and home insurance," said Mike. They also offer business and life insurance.

On the financial front, State Farm provides mutual funds and even some banking services. "You can have a State Farm checking and credit account. We do auto loans and refinancing and even offer CDs," Anissa explained.

While all of the employees of Randolph’s State Farm agency value the face-to-face personal connections they develop with their customers, that is just one of the benefits of being a small town business. Karen loves lighting up Merchant’s row along with the other businesses on the block by maintaining flower boxes out front and has also enjoyed being a part of community events such as the fourth of July parade. "We are always happy to help local charities," she pointed out and encourages anyone who needs a gift basket for a fundraiser to contact them.

Karen encourages everyone she knows to come in and get a quote to see for themselves. Through financial and insurance services, said Mike Heyl, "We’re here to help protect people from the unforeseen and help them fulfill their dreams."
