About

About this site

A plain, independent guide to Randolph and the White River Valley. No agenda past getting central Vermont right.

This is an independent site about Randolph, Vermont and the White River Valley around it. We write plain guides to the town and the region: what Randolph is, the valley it anchors, and what central Vermont is actually like to visit and to know. We are not a chamber of commerce or a real-estate outfit, and we are not selling anything. We just think this part of Vermont is worth explaining honestly.

Central Vermont tends to get skipped in the rush between the ski resorts and the cities, and that suits the people here fine. We would rather describe it the way a neighbor would than the way a brochure does: the good, the plain, the mud season and the maple, the town that kept its downtown.

What you'll find here

A note on this site. This domain carries a name with a long history serving Randolph and the White River Valley. We run it independently, in that same community spirit, and keep it clean and about the place. It is here with the goodwill of the name's former stewards, and if they ever want it back, it's theirs.

If we get something wrong about the town or the valley, tell us. The people who live here always know better than a website, and we would rather be corrected than confident.
